Generational communication keynote speaker: Alastair Greener
Alastair Greener is a UK keynote speaker on generational communication and the multigenerational workplace. His talks are built on his own research into 4,067 people and hundreds of British HR managers, tailored to your industry, and delivered by someone who has spent 30 years on stages, ships and television. He is President of the Professional Speaking Association UK and Ireland for 2026.
In most UK workplaces four generations are now working side by side, and a fifth is on its way. Alastair's keynotes explain how each of them thinks, works and communicates, and what leaders and teams can do about it on Monday morning. Every talk is bespoke: he researches your industry and draws on his own UK data, so the numbers on the screen are about people like the ones in the room.

Keynote talks
Bridging the Generational Gap for a Thriving Workplace
The signature keynote. Alastair shares the findings of his 4,067-person survey to reveal the communication patterns and preferences that separate, and connect, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials and Generation Z. Through real examples and hard data, the audience learns how to build a workplace where people of every age feel valued, heard and able to do their best work, and why closing the gap lifts productivity as well as morale. Suits conferences, leadership events and all-hands days. 30 to 60 minutes.
Why Don't People Understand Me? Speaking the Language of Their Generation
Have you ever felt that your words did not land, or that your feedback got lost in translation? The reason may be simple: you were not speaking their generational language. This talk uses the survey to uncover how each generation prefers to receive a message, from channel and tone to timing and frequency, and gives managers a practical toolkit for making sure what they say is heard, understood and acted on. Suits management conferences, HR events and sales kick-offs. 30 to 60 minutes.
The Generational Advantage: Turning Diversity into Workplace Strength
Four generations with different values, habits and expectations can feel like a problem. This keynote makes the case that they are your greatest untapped strength. Backed by data from HR managers and thousands of individuals, and tailored to your sector, it shows how to draw on the perspective and skills of every age group to drive innovation, collaboration and retention, and how to turn "they don't get it" into "we need both". Suits leadership summits and diversity and inclusion programmes. 30 to 60 minutes.
Understanding Generation Z, and what comes next
A focused session for organisations recruiting, onboarding and keeping young people: what 982 Gen Z respondents told the survey about feedback, phones, video calls, networking, ambition and the office, why the "lazy and entitled" story is wrong, and what Generation Alpha and Generation Beta will bring. Suits graduate programmes, apprenticeship providers, universities, schools and early-careers teams. 30 to 60 minutes.
Beyond The Port Hole
An after-dinner talk from 16 years running the entertainment on the world's most famous ships, including the QE2 and Queen Mary 2: the guests, the crises and the crew of a hundred people from every generation and dozens of countries who somehow put on a show every night. Funny, warm and with a serious point about connection underneath. 20 to 40 minutes.

Why Alastair
The research is his own. Most generational speakers quote American data from someone else. Alastair commissioned a UK survey of 4,067 people, from eight year olds to the over 78s, and a study of British HR managers, and publishes both in full on the research pages.
He has led every generation, not just studied them. Sixteen years as a Cruise Director running teams of 90 to 100 people from every age group and dozens of nationalities, then a decade interviewing 500 business leaders on television. He knows what a multigenerational team looks like at 2am when the show still has to go on.
He talks to the generations, not about them. His podcast has given the same half hour to a 15 year old, a 19 year old councillor, Gen Z graduates, Millennial managers, Gen X parents, Baby Boomer retirees and a 90 year old inventor. What they said shapes the talks.
He is a professional. Alastair is a Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association and its National President for 2026, and a trained actor and broadcaster. The talk will start on time, land on time and work in the room you actually have.
